The 1 oz South African Krugerrand is struck in 22 carat (91.67%) fine gold by The South African Mint, weighing 1 oz (33.93g total). First minted in 1967, the Krugerrand was the world's original gold bullion coin and remains one of the most widely traded. Its copper alloy gives it a distinctive orange-gold colour and added durability.
